The third and final match of the three-match T20I series ended in a draw (DLS) after rain interrupted India’s chase of 161 with the score reading 75/4 in 9 Overs. The result meant that India won the series 1-0. The DLS par score at this stage was 75 and after waiting for some time, the umpire counted the supposed conditions which were not suitable for a restart to force a draw. India lost their chase when they lost Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer in the Powerplay and Tim Southee took two wickets in the same number of deliveries. Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav continued to bat aggressively as India made 58/3 in the Powerplay. But Surya fell after field restrictions were lifted before the rains arrived. New Zealand were unfamiliar with the bat and were dealt another blow with captain Kane Williamson opting out of the series for a medical appointment. Today they will be led by Tim Southee and hope to save the series.
