India will face England today in the second semi-final of the Men’s T20 World Cup at the Adelaide Oval.
Last month, before India and Pakistan met in the group matches, Rohit Sharma almost cried while listening to the Indian national anthem. The emotional video has gone viral on social networks.
Now, ahead of India’s crucial T20 World Cup semi-final clash with England, members of the Indian men’s cricket team have revealed how they feel when they hear the anthem.
“Sometimes when you stand for the national anthem, it’s amazing. You smile every time,” star opener KL Rahul told Star Sports, adding, “Getting your cap is the second best thing. It will be.”

Captain Rohit Sharma said, “Whenever you come to the World Cup, when the first match is played, the national anthem echoes all over the ground, and it’s a different moment when our boys stand up. At the end of the national anthem, we see everyone. No one can speak for 5-7 seconds because everyone is in the moment. Trying to soak it in. A lot of guys can’t wait for it. Can’t experience it every day. It’s a special moment for everybody and me. I’m sure everybody is waiting.”

The T20 series against Australia will be played from September 20. The first match will be held in Mohali, Punjab. But while the new jersey will be launched in Mumbai on September 18, some members of Team India will be present in Mumbai on that day. According to a press release from MPL Sports, Team India’s new jersey will be launched at an event at the Bandstand Promenade in Mumbai on or after 8 pm.
India could not defend the Asia Cup title this year. They lost 2 crucial games in the Super 4 stage and because of this they were out of the tournament. In the words of Virat Kohli and Rohit, India got a better idea of how to deal with such tough conditions in the World Cup. Kohli said that those pressure points and tough conditions for India in the multinational tournament will be the biggest advantage for the Men in Blue. The upcoming T20Is against Australia and South Africa will serve as another overseas practice for Team India, where they are expected to field their full-strength XI.
