“We have introduced a new concept whereby the Non-First-Class CA Championship will be four-day matches. This ensures that the matches are competitive and result-oriented and that the players get full opportunity to make the best out of these games. It will also help bridge the gap between the first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, which is contested by the best players.
“We have also tried to facilitate the development and promotion of the players. Now talented U-19 cricketers will not have to wait until next year before playing in the senior competition. I am sure we will see some great cricketers from the CCA, CA and national tournaments this year as the competitions are geared towards the majors.
“Last year, North Mubasir Khan and Hasibullah youth from Balochistan were the players of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and Pakistan Cup respectively. It was heartening for the PCB to see the youth come forward and dominate these tournaments as it not only showcased the talent in our country but also the high standard of our events.
“I am confident that many youngsters will make a name for themselves in the upcoming tournaments, which will help increase the pool of reserve players for the national team.”
