In the process, Gill rewrote the record books as he became the fastest Indian to reach 1000 ODIs. Gill needed just 19 innings to reach the milestone, beating Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan’s record of 24 innings.

Overall, Jill is also second to Pakistan’s Farhar Zaman Imam Haq for 1000 ODIs in 18 innings.
